We were able to experience the local culture in a variety of activities- cooking class, alpaca wool demonstration, restaurants and shopping, farmers market. I enjoyed meeting new people- connecting through shared experiences on the retreat. And also learning from the wisdom and experience that we all bring to the table as we gather. I loved the new things that I got to experience. Every day life can get kind of stale. This retreat provided so many opportunities to try new things! I loved it! -Candi

One of my favorite parts of our retreat in Peru was the fact that we had a native family cook our meals for us each day. This provided a truly immersive feeling of really experiencing the local culture. I appreciated that the plans were very well laid out, with a balance of some busy days and some more restful days. We got to do a lot of fun and adventurous things, along with great sightseeing, while learning about the history behind things that we were seeing, providing a deeper understanding of the culture. The overall experience was fun, adventurous, and restorative!

I am so fortunate to have had the opportunity to experience the amazing culture of Peru. Marianne provided thoughtfully planned, well executed excursions every day. Each activity allowed us to partake in the wonderfully diverse Peruvian culture. While we did have opportunities to enjoy the more mainstream tourist cuisine, we were also given access to the authentic cuisine of the Peruvian people. Marianne provided an avenue to experience Peru in a very intimate down to earth way. She also guided us through the process of being at Peace with nature which allowed for an in depth connection and understanding of the people’s development as a culture. I would follow her in an adventure anywhere! 5 stars!! - Jenn
